Tai Chi & Qigong

About

"Without stillness, there cannot be a concept of motion." 


Hunyuan Taijiquan or Tai Chi is a gentle, effective way to fight stress while improving overall health and mental well-being. 


Once only taught in secret and behind closed doors in China, Tai Chi is now one of the most popular forms of healing exercise for all ages and abilities around the world. This low-intensity exercise and "moving form of meditation" strengthens the body and mind by combining relaxation with mindful movement. Tai Chi shows us how to find balance and clarity in life's chaos, and how to exist in harmony with others and all living things. 


The ancient art also teaches us how to assist our body in its own natural self-healing process. This healing practice is of particular benefit to people with health conditions and disabilities. Utilizing slow, focused movements, Tai Chi can assist with improving cognitive, lung, digestive and heart function as well as increasing your mood, blood circulation, energy, mobility, balance, awareness and mental calm. 


Acquire new ways to relieve the physical effects of stress on the mind and body, no special equipment needed. Learn safe and easy movements (seated or standing) that can be performed anywhere at any time to help you feel better and heal better. 


Qigong, or "life energy work," focuses on cultivating our Qi/Chi = life energy. As you learn to "swim in air," you will work in tandem with your body to aid in its natural healing process. We will "flush" our bodies of the energy/stress that no longer serves us, gather energy (Qi/Chi) from nature to recharge and rejuvenate, and sync with spirit to flow with grace and relaxation through life's waters.  Unplug and Tune In to self.

The Experience

This art form and exercise meets you at your level. 


Whether you are an established athlete, prefer light exercise or are seeking a low-impact health routine to increase mental/physical wellbeing, this healing art achieves maximum benefit through. As a collective we will release, replenish and rejuvenate. 


We will learn segmented portions of the complete form through easy, repetitive movements. As your ability increases, the art will continue to meet your desired level of intensity.


  • Wear comfortable and loose clothes (T-shirts, sweatpants, etc.)
  • Wear comfortable sneakers
  • Bring water
  • Easy choreography
  • Locations vary between indoors and outdoors. Although outdoors is the preferred location in order to harness and achieve
  • Easily modified to accommodate injuries and physical impairments

Please Note

Tai Chi is not a religious practice, but a spiritual one. You are welcomed and encouraged to bring your beliefs/religious denomination to the shared space. It will aid with intention and direction of Qi flow.
